Amid hypothesis over holding the Winter Session of Parliament within the wake of rising COVID-19 instances within the nationwide capital, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday mentioned the Lok Sabha secretariat is able to maintain the session and dates are determined by the federal government.

He mentioned the Monsoon session was held with all precautions amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the parliament standing committees have additionally been assembly often.

“The Lok Sabha secretariat is ready to carry the parliament session. So far as dates are involved, it’s determined by the Cupboard Committee on Parliamentary Affairs,” Mr Birla mentioned in reply to a query about holding the Winter Session of Parliament.
