Congress chief Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday met the celebration’s MPs from Punjab, who’ve been protesting in opposition to the farm legal guidelines. Priyanka met them at her brother and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s residence.
The MPs — Ravneet Singh Bittu, Jasbir Singh Dimpa and others — have been protesting at Jantar Mantar since December 7. Many Congress leaders, together with Shashi Tharoor and Salman Khurshid have joined their protest to point out solidarity with them.
Congress MP Jasbir Singh Gill Dimpa stated: “We are going to sit right here until the farmers protest in opposition to the brand new farm legal guidelines continues. The federal government ought to withdraw the brand new farm legal guidelines and look into their calls for and resolve the matter.”
Gurjit Singh Aujla stated: “The Punjab Congress is with farmers from day one and it’s our accountability to assist the farmers… the protest will proceed until the federal government takes again its selections.”
The three legal guidelines are The Farmers Produce Commerce and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; The Farmers (Empowerment and Safety) Settlement of Worth Assurance and Farm Providers Act, 2020; and The Important Commodities (Modification) Act, 2020.
