Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has positioned the nation’s fundamental island, Luzon, underneath a ‘state of calamity’ to hurry up aid and rehabilitation efforts, after it was hit final week by Hurricane Vamco.

1000’s of individuals within the worst-affected provinces of Cagayan and Isabela are in evacuation centres or sheltering in makeshift roadside camps, in response to the authorities.
