Pedestrians killed in Dumfries and Galloway and Loch Lomond after being struck by automobiles – NewsEverything Scotland


Two pedestrians have died after being struck by automobiles on Scotland’s roads on Sunday.

One man died after being hit by a automobile in Dumfries and Galloway whereas in a separate incident a person died after being struck by a lorry on the A82 street which skirts Loch Lomond.

The latter incident occurred at about 8.20am, south of Luss.

Emergency providers attended and the 31-year-old was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

The street was closed for round 9 hours for a collision investigation.

Police Sergeant Kevin Craig stated: “Our ideas are with the household and buddies of the deceased right now.

“We’re conducting intensive inquiries into the circumstances of this incident and are interesting for anybody with data to come back ahead.”

The second incident occurred later the identical day.

The person concerned was strolling on the A75 between Annan and Dumfries, near the junction with the B7020, at 11.50pm on Sunday when he was hit by a Vauxhall Insignia.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman stated: “Emergency providers attended; nevertheless, the male pedestrian was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

“The occupants of the automobile, a Vauxhall Insignia travelling east, had been taken to hospital as a precaution.

“The roadway reopened at round 7.35am and inquiries are ongoing into the crash.”
