John Wick star Keanu Reeves will return as John Constantine, but he also has a Marvel role in mind.

Keanu Reeves will soon return to the world of superheroes at the hands of DC Studios with the sequel to Constantine, but there is another role that he dreams of, and it is from the Marvel universe. Eight years after the premiere of the first part, The Matrix star is preparing to return as paranormal detective John Constantine in the long-awaited sequel to the 2005 film alongside director Francis Lawrence.

This new project, which, like Joker and The Batman, will remain as the Elseworlds label of the new Warner Discovery division run by James Gunn and Peter Safran, is something Reeves has fought for a long time, as have the fans of the character. However, it is not the role he most wanted to play.

Once again, through Reddit, while interacting with his followers to promote the fourth installment of John Wick, the actor confirmed that there is a role within the superhero genre that he always wanted to play, and that is Wolverine:

“…No…but I did always want to play Wolverine.”

It really is hard to imagine another actor bringing the famous mutant to life other than Hugh Jackman. In fact, even though the character died in his last solo film and the Australian said several times that he would not return, he will finally appear again in Deadpool 3. However, there is no doubt that if there was another big star who could have gotten the same success with the character, it’s Reeves.

Keanu Reeves Returns as John Wick

We may not see the actor ever play Wolverine, but we see him take down a few bad guys in John Wick: Chapter 4, which hits theaters this month.

In addition to Reeves, the film will feature the returns of Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick, reprising their previous roles in the franchise. Next to them are the new additions: Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Scott Adkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, Clancy Brown, Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, and Natalia Tena. George Georgiou also joins the saga for the first time, playing The Elder, a character played by Saïd Taghmaoui in Parabellum.

In this new adventure, John Wick discovers a way to defeat the High Table. But to win his freedom, Wick must face a new rival with powerful alliances around the world, capable of turning old friends into enemies. Additionally, the franchise is preparing for its expansion with two spin-offs. One in the form of a series that will focus on the legendary assassin hotel The Continental. The other is a film titled Ballerina, with Ana de Armas as the protagonist.
