Kali Uchis was born on the 17th of July 1994 in Alexandria, Virginia. Her real name is Karly-Marina Loaiza, better known by her stage name “Kali Uchis” which was given by her father.

She spent most of her youth in Colombia. In the early 1980s, her father first met Kali’s mother, and later they moved from Pereira, Colombia to the United States in the 1990s. Her mother is from Virginia and had children from her previous relationship.
