Kolkata: Eminent Bengali author Buddhadeb Guha, writer of many notable works resembling ‘Madhukari’ (Honey Gatherer), isn’t any extra. He was 85.

Born on June 29, 1936 in Kolkata, Guha had spent his childhood in Rangpur and Barisal districts of East Bengal (now Bangladesh). His childhood experiences and travels left a deep imprint on his thoughts, which have been mirrored in his works afterward.

His novels and brief tales have been extremely acclaimed by critics, profitable him followers throughout the sub-continent and several other awards together with Ananda Purashkar in 1976, Shiroman Purashkar and Sharat Puraskar.
