The CBI on Thursday carried out searches at 25 places in reference to a case of cash price Rs 11 crore going lacking from the vaults of an SBI department in Karauli in Rajasthan, officers stated.
The central company had registered the case on April 13 following an order of the Rajasthan Excessive Courtroom, they stated.
The searches had been unfold throughout 25 places in Delhi, Jaipur, Dausa, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Alwar, Udaipur and Bhilwara on the premises of round 15 former financial institution officers and others, they stated.
The matter got here to mild after the State Financial institution of India (SBI) department determined to hold out counting of cash after a preliminary enquiry indicated discrepancy in its money reserve in August, 2021.
The counting was outsourced to a non-public vendor which revealed that over Rs 11 crore price of cash had been lacking from the department.
Solely 3,000 coin baggage carrying about Rs 2 crore may very well be accounted for and had been transferred to the RBI’s coin holding department.
