Bomb squad race to Edinburgh avenue after unexploded machine present in backyard shed – NewsEverything Scotland

A bomb squad have raced to a cul-de-sac in Edinburgh after an exploded ordinance was present in a backyard shed.

Police cordoned off a part of Blackford Financial institution within the metropolis at round 9.45am on Saturday morning following the invention.

It is believed specialist officers have been referred to as after the bomb was discovered throughout a home clearance.

A piece of the street was sealed off however residents didn’t should be evacuated.

An eyewitness informed Edinburgh Reside : “An older girl lived in the home and not too long ago moved out.

“Whereas they have been clearing out the home they discovered one thing, however I am unsure what but.”

Police Scotland say the merchandise was present in a shed and has since been safely eliminated.

A spokesperson stated: “We have been made conscious of unexploded ordnance present in a shed on Blackford Financial institution, Edinburgh, round 9.45am on Saturday, June 5.

“EOD attended and the merchandise has now been safely eliminated.

“The realm was cordoned off briefly as a precaution.”
