A military bomb squad was known as to a mail sorting workplace in Edinburgh on Saturday after a bundle, reportedly addressed to Nicola Sturgeon, started to smoke.

Postal staff have been compelled to evacuate the Royal Mail constructing in Sighthill, Edinburgh, at round 10.25am after the bundle was noticed. 

Police and hearth providers attended alongside members of the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal).

Sources have instructed the Scottish Solar that the parcel was addressed to Scotland’s First Minister, and it had been “leaking smoke”.

The Scottish Authorities declined to remark.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland mentioned: “Officers attended together with colleagues from the Scottish Fireplace & Rescue Service, supported by the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal).

“The constructing was partially evacuated as a precaution and later reopened as soon as EOD eliminated the bundle. Inquiries are ongoing.”

A Royal Mail spokesman mentioned: “Royal Mail can verify {that a} suspect bundle was discovered at Edinburgh Mail Centre on Saturday 14 November.
