Argentina abortion: Activists rejoice Senate vote – #NewsEverything #LatinAmerica

Argentina’s Congress has voted to legalise abortion as much as the 14th week of being pregnant.

Senators voted with 38 in favour, 29 towards, with one abstention.

Activists have campaigned for years on the difficulty with crowds gathered on the streets of Buenos Aires to listen to the results of the vote.

The Catholic Church opposed the invoice and had referred to as on senators to reject the invoice. Till now, abortions have solely been allowed in instances of rape or if the well being of the mom was in danger.
